Saint-Pierre Church

During the 11th century, Robert the Pious, son of Hugh Capet and Adelaide of Aquitaine, rebuilt the church of Saint-Pierre, which was then expanded during the 13th century and all throughout the Middle Ages, up to the construction of the steeple in the 16th century. Desacralized after the French Revolution, the church served as a fodder store, chicory factory, cavalry barracks, market, and then a chapel for the victims of the March 1974 Turkish Airlines DC10 crash to lie in state in.

After a period of decline, it became a cultural space, before benefiting from an important restoration campaign between 2009 and 2017.
